Volt

Volt is a place for people who recognise a song by its opening riff and enjoy listening to whole albums.

Rock can mean a tight rhythm section, a long guitar solo, a short punk song or the quiet acoustic side of a big band. Our catalogue helps you choose a mood; the journal invites you to listen to the details.

Each station has a link to its official website. The broadcaster's name stays visible: that broadcaster puts together the programme, selects the recordings and announces its shows.

Start with a familiar format, then try a neighbouring style. If a track catches your attention, look for the artist and album on the station's website. A chance discovery can become part of your own music collection.

How the selection works

We group stations by musical style and publish articles to help you hear more. Each station links to an official source; the broadcaster determines its programmes and schedule.
